How Much Can You Get?

No matter your starting point, there are significant rebates available to help cover the cost of upgrading to a high-efficiency heat pump. Your household income and region of BC can also affect the amount you receive. Here's an overview of what's available:

Maximum rebates available:

  • Low-income homeowners: Up to $24,000

  • Middle-income homeowners: Up to $12,000

  • Additional top-ups: $3,000 for northern BC residents & $5,000 for electrical upgrades

Important Note

Homeowners do not need to pay upfront and wait for a rebate—the contractor deducts the rebate amount from the total cost at the time of installation.

Heat Pump Brands & Manufacturer Rebates

In addition to government rebates, some heat pump manufacturers offer special promotions that can help you save even more. If you're considering a system from Carrier or Amana — the trusted brands we install — be sure to ask us about current offers:

Carrier Rebates

Carrier frequently runs seasonal promotions, such as the Carrier Cool Cash Rebate, which can provide extra savings when you purchase a qualifying heat pump system during specific promotional periods (for example, Spring 2025).

Amana Rebates

Amana also runs limited-time promotional offers throughout the year. While there are no permanent BC-specific rebates listed, Amana often provides additional savings through their dealers.

Our team stays up to date on all available rebates and promotions — including manufacturer offers — so you won’t miss out. When you work with us, we’ll ensure your rebate package includes:

  • All applicable provincial rebates

  • Any available BC Hydro or utility rebates

  • The latest manufacturer promotions from Carrier or Amana

You’ll get a complete picture of what you can save — and we assist with the rebate paperwork so the process is simple and stress-free.

Who Is Eligible?

Before you apply, it’s important to understand who qualifies for these rebate programs. In general, most BC homeowners upgrading an existing home are eligible if they meet the following criteria:

  • Home must be in British Columbia

  • Single-family homes only (not condos or apartments)

  • Must use a certified contractor for installation

  • Homeowners must pre-register for income verification (for high rebate amounts)

Not Eligible

  • New home builds

  • DIY installations

  • Homes outside BC

Application & Installation Process

1. Check Your Eligibility

2. Choose a Certified Contractor

  • Work with a qualified heat pump installer

  • Ensure the heat pump model is eligible for rebates

3. Apply for Pre-Approval

  • Low/middle-income households must apply for income verification before installing.

  • Pre-approval is only required for low- and middle-income households who want to access the higher tier of rebates (up to $24,000 or $12,000).
If you are a regular household not applying based on income, you do not need pre-approval — your contractor can apply the standard rebates directly.

4. Installation & Rebate Deduction

  • Once installed, contractor applies the rebate at purchase

  • No need to pay upfront and wait for reimbursement

5. Enjoy Savings

  • Lower heating & cooling costs

  • More energy-efficient home

  • Improved year-round comfort
